Some people prefer to use silicone when installing granite tiles as opposed to the traditional mortar. Install a thin bead of silicone around the perimeter of the tile. Add a few drops in the middle for extra safety. Lay the tile on the intended surface.

Place a thin wooden wedge under an area that is not level. Re-test for a flat surface using the level. Apply silicone caulking around the seams between the tiles. Wipe off excess with a damp sponge away. Let the silicone and silicone mortar to dry for 12 hours before the area which is tiled.
